Today is a day to explore the amazing Sunshine Coast Hinterland Region. View the ancient volcanic peaks of the Glass House Mountains, walk through the lush rainforests, take in the breathtaking scenery – lose yourself in the natural beauty and serenity of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
When we arrive at the Hinterland Village of Montville, you can spend an hour checking out the delightful shops and boutiques, enjoying this picture-postcard village and its fresh mountain air.
Depending on availability, your gourmet lunch will be at either “Secrets on the Lake” which is set in the rainforest on the side of Lake Baroon. a popular foodie destination near Montville enjoying panoramic views of Lake Baroon, or “The Edge Café Bar and Restaurant” in Montville which is perched on the edge of the escarpment & offers panoramic views of the Sunshine coastline. Regardless of the lunch venue, you’ll enjoy a delicious 2-course meal included in the tour.
One of two scenic lookouts we stop at will be Gerrard’s Lookout, high on the hill land this lookout offers coastline views to Coolum, Maroochydore, Caloundra and Bribie Island. Nearby
As we travel along the Blackall Range, we stop at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, a scenic rainforest reserve set on 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest overlooking the stunning Glass House Mountains. Here you will have an opportunity to walk a flat and easy 1.7km trail through the pristine rainforest learning about the unique flora and fauna that abound here. Or alternatively, you can sit and enjoy a coffee overlooking the stunning Glass House Mountains instead of taking a walk through the rainforest.
The Mapleton Falls lookout for some is a highlight of their day, a hidden treasure in the Hinterland region, this scenic lookout offers amazing views over the Obi Obi Valley and the top of lush rainforest canopy.
If you book our Thursday Hinterland Tours, then first up, it’s coffee time…Smell the heady aroma of freshly roasted coffee as the roaster gives you a personal demonstration at Pioneer Coffee. Following Pioneer Coffee, we walk across the road to the Ginger Factory to learn to how Ginger is grown, harvested and turned into yummy foods on a Factory Tour, ride the Ginger Train or go on the Overboard Boat Ride. You can also shop at speciality retail stores, enjoy a huge range of delicious foods or wander the sub-tropical garden filled surroundings.
Whether you want to eat, shop or play – the Ginger Factory has something for all everyone.
We were escorted by the courteous professional and amiable Geoff in his beautifully clean and spacious vehicle. We gained a much greater insight into the general sunshine coast area and hinterland than would have ever been possible on our own. It was entirely relaxing and we covered all the delightful areas highlighted in the itinerary.
Lunch was included and it was a delicious and elegant meal overlooking the stunning glasshouse mountain.
There simply wasn’t anything to improve in this tour… The day went so quickly though! Highly recommend!
I would highly recommend this company. I spent two days with Geoff as a guide- transfer to Eumundi markets, as well as the Rainforest and Montville Day Tour. Geoff is an interesting and informative guide, showing a depth of knowledge of the places we visited. I especially enjoyed his storytelling about Mt Coolum. He showed respect and dignity towards the Aborigine culture. I was travelling alone so enjoyed the social contact with others. It was a long day but at no time were we rushed. He went the extra mile with letting us see inside one of the treehouses at Secrets on the Lake. If I am in the area again I will certainly do further tours.
The friendliness of and service given by Mark on a very enjoyable Coast To Hinterland transfer from Mooloolaba to the Eumundi Market lead us to forgo our rental car and book a private Hinterland Tour. It was a wonderful day out planned by Geoff, the driver / guide. The day included some scenic lookouts, Hinterland villages and a delicious lunch at Secrets on the Lake Cafe. (Beautiful place for a relaxing lunch) Geoff is an excellent guide with great local knowledge.
We thoroughly recommend the experience. We both got to see the scenery without driving and having to work out where we were and which way to go
Good variety tour from Ginger and Nut factories to mountain/coastal views and Montville village. Tasty lunch with lake view setting.
Finished with Rainforest walk.
Our tour was amazing and so was our guide Jeff. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.
